Interlope is a script typeface. It is inspired by a lettering printed on the cover of the first issue of Interlopes, a magazine published by the Homosexual Liberation Group of Lyon from 1977 to 1979.

The original lettering was drawn in an amateur calligraphic style, in a DIY spirit that represents well the independant homosexual press from the 70's in France. The digital font keeps those features as an homage, and displays a large range of ligatures and ornamental alternate glyphs, mimicking the fantasy of the original lettering.

À Lyon, un GLH est créé en 1976 à l'initiative de Pierre Gandonnière sur le campus de Bron avec Jean-Paul Montanari et Alain Neddam. Le groupe organise dès ses débuts des semaines du cinéma homosexuel au Cinématographe (L’Autre Amour au printemps 1976 avec 3 films sur l’homosexualité : Pink Narcissus, Une chose très naturelle et Mis O’ginie et les hommes fleurs ; et la Semaine Homosexuelle en juin 1977). Il est aussi à l'origine des cinq numéros la revue Interlopes qui parait entre 1977 et 1979, et de la grande fête Dissidanse Rose en juin 1978. Il se réunit régulièrement Aux Tables Rabattues, un restaurant autogéré de la Croix-Rousse, ainsi qu'au Centre d’expression populaire de Saint-Georges.

Cottaging is a gay slang term, originating from the United Kingdom, referring to anonymous sex between men in a public lavatory (a "cottage" or "tea-room"), or cruising for sexual partners with the intention of having sex elsewhere. The term has its roots in self-contained English toilet blocks resembling small cottages in their appearance; in the English cant language of Polari this became a double entendre by gay men referring to sexual encounters.
